EMERGENCY READINESS

Website Emergency Readiness Score

Eight yes/no questions about domain ownership, billing, hosting access, backups, and whether you could restore without the original developer. Free self-check — not a paid diagnostic.

WHY IT MATTERS

Why ownership gaps become emergencies

When the site goes down, the first delay is rarely the fix — it is finding who can log in, pay the host, or restore a backup that actually works.

  • Registrar and billing

If you cannot reach the domain or hosting invoice, every repair waits on someone else.

  • Hosting access

Without panel, SSH, or cooperative host support, diagnosis stops at the login screen.

  • Off-server backups

A snapshot on the same failing server is not a recovery plan.

  • Restore without the developer

If only one person knows the stack, their silence becomes your outage.

READINESS FAQ

Free score vs paid diagnostic

What the tiers mean and when to hire.

Is this a paid assessment? +
No. This is a free self-check. If you want a paid investigation, use Request Rescue (Rescue Diagnostic) or the Website Health Check hire path.
How is this different from the Website Health Check? +
Health Check is a paid Rescue Diagnostic with written findings. This score only asks whether you can own and recover the site — registrar, billing, access, backups, restore without the original developer.
What do the tiers mean? +
Low risk (7–8 yes): basics in place. Exposed (4–6 yes): gaps that hurt in an outage. High recovery risk (0–3 yes): likely scramble if the site fails.
Do I have to request a diagnostic afterward? +
No. Soft links only — Care plans, Health Check, domain/hosting recovery, or Request Rescue when you want help closing the gaps.
What if the site is already down? +
Start with Emergency Website Repair or Request Rescue. You can still use this score later to prevent the next scramble.
