HOW RECOVERY WORKS

From signal to stable site

Backup first, diagnose the failure, then repair with a written scope — not guessing on the live site.

1

Send the signal

Tell us what happened, how it impacts the business, and share the website address. Screenshots and logs help — passwords go through Password Pusher or One-Time Secret (optional share-link field, or after we reply). Prefer a dedicated Rescue 404 admin account.

2

Paid diagnostic

$175 investigation on a controlled path. You get written findings and a fixed repair quote. Credited in full if you proceed.

3

Stabilize & repair

We isolate the fault, restore access when needed, and address the root cause within scope — not a random plugin roulette.

4

Hand back control

You review the outcome. Optional Care enrollment keeps updates, backups, and monitoring from becoming the next emergency.

PROBLEMS WE STABILIZE

Typical failure families — with diagnostic pricing

Ranges reflect post-diagnostic repair bands. Every job starts with a $175 paid investigation credited toward the fix if you proceed.

Diagnostic $175 · repair from $325

Site offline or refusing connections

Visitors cannot reach the site — timeouts, blank origins, or host-level outages.

  • Browser says the site cannot be reached
  • Blank white response with no CMS UI
  • Intermittent outages during business hours
  • Hosting panel shows resource or service faults
  • DNS resolves but origin never answers

WordPress crashes & update fallout

Critical errors, plugin/theme conflicts, and white screens after routine updates.

  • “There has been a critical error” banner
  • wp-admin inaccessible after a plugin update
  • Front end white while admin partially loads
  • Theme or builder editor will not open
  • Stuck in maintenance mode after an update

Single-issue vs multi-system quoted separately

Compromise, malware & security warnings

Spam redirects, injected content, and browser or Search Console trust warnings.

  • Unexpected redirects to third-party domains
  • Google “deceptive site” or Safe Browsing flags
  • Unknown admin users or modified core files
  • Spam pages indexed under your domain
  • SSL or mixed-content warnings scaring buyers

Slow load times & Core Web Vitals

Heavy pages, weak caching, and hosting limits that punish every visit.

  • PageSpeed / GTmetrix stuck in poor grades
  • Mobile feels sluggish even on good Wi-Fi
  • Images and scripts blocking first paint
  • Host CPU / inode warnings under traffic
  • Admin dashboard crawling while front end lags

Meaningful improvement — not vanity score guarantees

WooCommerce & checkout failures

Cart, payment, and order-email breaks that stop revenue mid-purchase.

  • Place Order does nothing or loops
  • Payment methods missing at checkout
  • Order emails never arrive
  • Variations or stock display wrong
  • Gateway declines after a plugin update

Store-critical work often Standard or Critical tier

DNS, domain & mail delivery

Broken MX/SPF/DKIM, domain routing faults, and mail that never reaches the inbox. We troubleshoot delivery DNS — we do not host or migrate email.

  • Customers say contact forms “worked” but you got nothing
  • Transactional mail lands in spam
  • Domain points to the wrong host after a move
  • NXDOMAIN or propagation limbo after DNS edits
  • SSL fails because the hostname is wrong

DNS access required for durable fixes

HOW WE FIT YOUR TEAM

Technical rescue that complements design and development

We provide a deeply technical service that sits beside your design and development partners. We do not redesign your brand or rebuild your marketing site from scratch — we diagnose, stabilize, maintain, and keep the stack healthy so their work stays online.

Lane A

Design & development

  • Visual systems, UX, and new feature builds
  • Brand storytelling and conversion design
  • Custom themes, landing pages, and product UI

Lane B

Rescue & Care

  • Outages, fatals, malware, DNS, and hosting faults
  • Safe updates, backups, monitoring, and recovery
  • Scoped repairs that protect existing design work

Designers who refuse maintenance and hosting can hand that lane to us — clients enroll in Care directly.

HONEST SCOPE

Built for Sites I Can Actually Fix

WordPress and self-hosted sites are the sweet spot. Closed website builders are a different story — and I'll tell you upfront.

FIT CHECK

Built for sites that have to keep working

If the site has to work — and you want a clear diagnosis before anyone changes production — you are in the right place.

Who this is for

  • Operators whose WordPress or self-hosted site carries leads, bookings, or checkout
  • Local and regional businesses that need the site working — not a redesign or ranking miracle
  • WooCommerce owners who need checkout and store ops stable — not a marketing retainer
  • Owners and partners who want paid diagnostics, fixed quotes, and an honest no when the platform blocks it

Who this is not for

  • Shoppers looking for the lowest possible marketplace rate
  • Enterprise RFPs, multi-vendor SOWs, or IT committees that need six weeks of discovery
  • “Make my site rank #1 on Google” or guaranteed sales / conversion projects
  • Closed builders (Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, etc.) that need deep server-level rescue
  • Free “just take a quick look” requests — new work starts with a paid diagnostic

TRANSPARENT PRICING

HONEST ANSWERS

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you fix my Wix / Squarespace / Shopify / Webflow site? +
Honestly — probably not in the way you need. These platforms lock down backend access, which means I cannot fix server issues, malware at the file level, or deep performance problems. For Shopify I can sometimes help with theme-level issues. For Wix, Squarespace, and Webflow, fixes are very limited. I will tell you upfront instead of taking your money for work I cannot do.
My site is slow — is it WordPress or hosting? +
Often both, but bad hosting is the hidden culprit. Cheap shared hosting causes slow response times, downtime, and email problems even when your site code is fine. I diagnose both layers and tell you what actually needs to change.
Do you guarantee an A grade on PageSpeed? +
No — and anyone who guarantees that is overselling. Results depend on your site, theme, plugins, hosting, and images. I aim for meaningful improvement, not a vanity score.
Can you migrate me off bad hosting? +
Yes. I migrate WordPress and self-hosted sites — files, database, DNS, and SSL — with a plan to minimize downtime. I do not host or migrate email; keep your mail provider and leave MX alone during the site move.
What do you need from me to get started? +
Your website address, a plain-language description of what happened, when it started, business impact, desired deadline, and whether you can access WordPress, hosting, and a backup. For WordPress sites, prefer a dedicated Rescue 404 admin user — not your personal owner account. Share passwords only via a Password Pusher or One-Time Secret link (optional field on intake, or after I reply) — never as plain text. I will tell you exactly what I need before any work begins.
Can you fix a theme that isn’t updated anymore? +
Sometimes — for a short-term stabilize so the business is online again. Abandoned themes have no vendor updates, so the next WordPress or PHP upgrade can break them again. After a paid diagnostic I recommend Stabilize, Replace, or Hybrid (patch now + a planned migration). I will not pretend every legacy theme can be saved forever.
